    Position Title: Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic

    Location: Kernersville, NC

    Position Summary

    The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company vehicles, heavy equipment, trailers, and small equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and keeping equipment job-site ready.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and small equipment
    • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues
    • Complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner
    • Conduct routine inspections and identify potential equipment failures
    • Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
    • Maintain accurate service and repair records
    • Communicate equipment issues and repair timelines with supervisors and operators
    • Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, fueled, and ready for use
    • Respond to field service calls when necessary
    • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and work areas
    • Assist with inventory and organization of tools, parts, and supplies
    • Operate company vehicles and equipment safely

    Qualifications

    • Experience working on heavy equipment, diesel engines, and construction equipment preferred
    • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
    • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues independently
    • Welding and fabrication experience preferred
    • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong work ethic and initiative
    • Basic computer and documentation skills preferred

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
    • Ability to work in various weather conditions and shop environments
    • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting
    • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment
