Position Title: Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic

Position Summary
The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company vehicles, heavy equipment, trailers, and small equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and keeping equipment job-site ready.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and small equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues
- Complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner
- Conduct routine inspections and identify potential equipment failures
- Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Communicate equipment issues and repair timelines with supervisors and operators
- Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, fueled, and ready for use
- Respond to field service calls when necessary
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and work areas
- Assist with inventory and organization of tools, parts, and supplies
- Operate company vehicles and equipment safely
Qualifications
- Experience working on heavy equipment, diesel engines, and construction equipment preferred
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues independently
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and initiative
- Basic computer and documentation skills preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and shop environments
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment
