Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Equipment & Diesel Mechanic position in Virginia Beach, Virginia! 
 
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain DBIDS
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic.
  • Experience working in OEM dealerships, commercial fleet maintenance shops, or military intermediate-level maintenance facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and repair heavy equipment, diesel engines, and associated mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with AssetWorks Fleet Focus or similar computerized maintenance management systems.
  • ASE certification in diesel engines plus at least two heavy truck categories, such as brakes, drivetrain, suspension, electrical, HVAC, or preventive maintenance.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license; CDL preferred for vehicles exceeding 26,000 lbs. GVW.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb on equipment, reach, and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Ability to work around noise, fuels, lubricants, exhaust, and varying outdoor conditions.
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
  • Perform all levels of preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy trucks, construction equipment, CESE, and diesel-powered equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace components within suspension, steering, braking, drivetrain, powertrain, electrical, and related systems.
  • Perform tire mounting, balancing, repair, and replacement.
  • Perform welding, metalwork, minor fabrication, and equipment repairs as required.
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs in shop, motor pool, field, and expeditionary environments.
  • Operate Government vehicles and equipment as required to perform maintenance duties.
  • Document labor, parts, inspections, repairs, and other maintenance actions in AssetWorks Fleet Focus or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Follow OEM technical guidance, NAVFAC P-300/P-480 requirements, and applicable NSW maintenance standards.
  • Support surge, contingency, expeditionary, and mission-related maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Perform duties with minimal supervision while maintaining mission readiness of NSW ground assets.
Schedule:
  • Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm
Pay:
  • $72,000 annual salary
