Performs preventative maintenance services in conformance to manufacturer specificationsDiagnoses and repairs heavy-duty vehicle and equipment systemsOrders parts as neededResponds to road callsConducts road and static testing to verify repairsTakes vehicles to and from outside vendors for repairs and servicesMaintains a clean and orderly Fleet ShopFollows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalentFour (4) years experience as a Diesel Engine Technician or the equivalent combination of education and experienceFurnishes own hand tools

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid Class C Driver's licenseEPA Section 609 Certification within 30 days of employmentASE Certifications: T4, T5& T6 (may be substitutedwith an additional 4 years of heavy duty technicianexperience)
