    Heavy-Duty Trailer Repair and Fabrication Specialist — Hermitage, TN

    Build safe, reliable trailers one repair at a time. If you thrive on precision and take pride in clean welds, accurate diagnostics, and buttoned-up inspections, this role with First Team Staffing is for you.

    Role Snapshot

    • Employment type: Full-time (approx. 40 hours/week)
    • Shifts available: 07:00am–03:30pm or 2:30pm–11:00pm
    • Location: Hermitage, TN area

    Core Responsibilities

    • Diagnose and repair trailer systems: brakes, electrical, suspension, and structures.
    • Execute brake repairs and formal safety inspections.
    • Perform trailer body repairs and structural reinforcement.
    • Weld (MIG/Stick) and solder for repair and fabrication projects.
    • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical faults.
    • Verify that completed work meets safety and quality specifications.
    • Operate forklifts safely to handle parts and equipment.
    • Keep the work area organized and compliant with safety procedures.

    Must-Haves

    • Knowledge of trailer components and mechanical systems.
    • Capability to perform brake inspections and repairs.
    • Ability to safely complete all essential job functions.
    • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required).

    Nice-to-Haves

    • Previous experience in automotive, trailer, or general mechanical repair.
    • Trailer mechanic experience: 1 year preferred.
    • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year preferred.
    • Experience with trailer body repair and inspections.
    • Familiarity with tractor-trailers and related components.
    • Welding and soldering experience.
    • English proficiency preferred.

    Physical Requirements

    • Comfort with physically demanding work for full 8-hour shifts.
    • Standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and maneuvering around heavy equipment.
    • Safe forklift operation in a busy shop setting.
