A hauler arrives with a loss-of-power complaint—you connect diagnostic tools, interpret data, trace an electrical fault, and bring the engine back to full strength. Between jobs, you log precise notes, collaborate with teammates on process tweaks, and keep your bay spotless. Before the day ends, you button up a scheduled service on a lift truck, road-test for performance and safety, and close out the repair order with crystal‑clear documentation.
Core duties you’ll own
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical concerns in diesel engines and related systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a range of diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Inspect and test engines to confirm optimal performance and safety.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and completely.
- Work closely with teammates to improve shop processes and efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as a diesel mechanic or in a comparable role.
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
