As a Heavy-Duty Diesel Fleet Technician, you’ll step into a fast-paced shop where your hands-on expertise keeps essential vehicles safe, reliable, and on the road.

    Morning starts with a quick huddle to prioritize work: a refuse packer with a drivability complaint, a bucket truck due for preventive service, and a bus with an electrical fault. You’ll move confidently between advanced diagnostics, routine maintenance, and precision repairs, collaborating with teammates to keep turnaround times tight and safety uncompromised.

    What you’ll do

    • Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines and related systems across trucks, buses, refuse units, and utility equipment.
    • Perform scheduled services and corrective repairs to sustain safety, reliability, and peak performance.
    • Inspect, test, and verify functionality of brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems.
    • Repair or replace faulty components and assemblies as required.
    • Document findings, work performed, and parts used with clear, accurate records.
    • Partner with the team to elevate shop efficiency and safety standards.
    • Keep current with evolving diesel technology and industry best practices.

    What you bring

    • High school diploma or equivalent; diesel technical training/certification is preferred.
    • Hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic—ideally with heavy trucks, buses, or refuse vehicles.
    • Strong command of diesel powertrain and subsystem operation.
    • Ability to interpret service literature, schematics, and technical diagrams.
    • Sharp diagnostic instincts, quality workmanship, and meticulous attention to detail.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Flexibility to support operational needs, including some weekends and holidays.
