Nucor Western Metals Recycling LLC is seeking a qualified Mechanic II in Plymouth, UT to diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered equipment while serving as a backup equipment operator. Candidates must possess at least one year of heavy equipment or diesel maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and basic welding knowledge.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Diagnostics & Maintenance: Diagnose, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic/electrical systems, fluid/filter changes, and mobile/production machinery.
Equipment Operation & Safety: Serve as a backup equipment operator (forklifts, skid steers, material handlers) while strictly adhering to safety and PPE policies.
Tool & Workstation Care: Operate hand/power tools, cutting torches, and stick-welding equipment while maintaining safe, clean equipment and accurate service records.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
Experience & Environment: Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, outdoor, or diesel-maintenance environment.
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic/electrical systems, drivetrains, and basic welding capability.
Safety & Conduct: Demonstrated ability to uphold safety standards, maintain consistent attendance, and work with a safe sense of urgency.
Physical & Operational Capability: Physical capacity to perform heavy equipment repairs and ability to operate mobile machinery in varying conditions.
Language Skills: Bilingual abilities are preferred, but not required
