Heavy Civil / Sitework Project Manager

Pay: $110,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year

Location: Thornwood, NY. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting heavy civil and sitework projects throughout Westchester County and the suburban Tri-State area.

Note: Candidates must have 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience and at least 1 year of experience with earthwork, excavation, and grading. Candidates with site development, excavation, underground utility, and suburban civil construction backgrounds are strongly preferred over those whose experience is primarily bridge, tunnel, or subway construction.

Job Description

• Manage heavy civil and sitework projects from planning through successful completion.
• Coordinate project schedules, field operations, subcontractors, vendors, materials, and project resources.
• Manage projects involving earthwork, excavation, grading, site development, and underground utilities.
• Partner closely with Superintendents and field crews to keep projects on schedule and moving efficiently.
• Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements.
• Coordinate underground utility work including sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and water systems.
• Track project progress, budgets, costs, change orders, documentation, and deadlines.
• Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, utility providers, and other project stakeholders.
• Identify project risks and resolve scheduling, field, and coordination issues.
• Help maintain strong quality-control and safety standards throughout project execution.
• Support roadway, infrastructure, and site improvement projects throughout the region.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
• 1+ year of earthwork, excavation, and grading experience.
• Strong understanding of heavy civil and sitework construction operations.
• Experience managing or coordinating construction projects, schedules, subcontractors, and field teams.
• Underground utility experience including sanitary sewer, storm drainage, or water systems preferred.
• Site development and excavation contractor experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• General proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and Outlook.
