Build Major Midwest Infrastructure Projects with a Family-Owned Heavy Civil Contractor

Elder Corporation is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead complex earthmoving, underground utility, demolition, and site development projects ranging from $5M to $50M throughout Iowa and the Midwest.

You'll have the autonomy to run your projects with the support of experienced superintendents, estimators, and leadership. Our Project Managers work directly with company leadership and have the ability to make decisions quickly.

Travel schedules typically range from 4-5 nights per week depending on project location, with company-paid lodging, transportation support, and per diem provided.

Key Responsibilities

Assist Senior Estimators with bid strategy development and project planning.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously from award through completion.

Monitor project budgets, schedules, manpower, equipment, and material usage.

Track project progress and proactively resolve issues impacting cost, quality, or schedule.

Prepare and submit RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.

Communicate project status, schedules, and deadlines with field superintendents, office staff, customers, subcontractors, and company leadership.

Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, subcontractors, and team members.

Preferred experience with:

HCSS Estimating and Project Management Software

Agtek Takeoff Software

Bluebeam

Procore

Qualifications

5+ years preferred; candidates with strong heavy civil project management experience are encouraged to apply.

Experience with earthmoving, underground utilities, demolition, grading, or site development projects

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

Working knowledge of heavy equipment and construction methods

Ability to manage multiple schedules, deadlines, and projects simultaneously

Knowledge of project budgeting, resource allocation, and construction operations

Valid driver's license required
