What You Will Do
- Provide nursing care to residents including but not limited to the administration of medications and treatments, collecting information, reporting and documenting that information within an LPN scope of practice.
- Monitor and identify changes in conditions of residents with respect to medical condition, physical symptoms, behaviors, psycho-social needs, and moods. Initiate these conversations with Nurse Coordinators, House Supervisor, Physicians, and families/responsible parties.
- Provide supervision of nursing staff as assigned. Lead by example, provide education/direction, and monitoring of Medication Aides, Certified Nursing Assistants, Dining Assistants. Accept responsibility for supervising, directing and monitoring Medication Aides in their Med Aide responsibilities.
- Report accidents, incidents, and unusual occurrences to supervisor. Document as appropriate.
- Document and communicate professionally, thoroughly, timely, precisely and appropriately. Notify appropriate parties as indicated.
- Be a Team Leader. Serve as a liaison with Activity Director, Social Work, Dietary, Therapy, Environmental Services and other departments. Problem solve and address residents' concerns for quality-of-life issues, especially in the absence of the Nurse Coordinators.
