JOB TITLE: Materials Manager/Surgical Tech

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Materials Manager / Certified Surgical Technologist is a hybrid role responsible for supporting safe, efficient surgical care while ensuring the Center has the supplies, instruments, equipment, and vendor support needed for daily operations. In the surgical technologist capacity, the employee assists in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel as a member of the operating room team. In the materials management capacity, the employee manages vendor relationships, purchasing, receiving, inventory control, par levels, equipment coordination, and supply distribution to meet patient care and operational needs promptly and efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program required unless otherwise permitted by applicable state regulation.
  • CST certification required, or applicable Pennsylvania state surgical technology requirements must be met, including any grandfathering provisions allowed by state regulation.
  • Current Basic Life Support and ACLS certification required.
  • Prefer 1 to 2 years of clinical experience in an operating room setting for cardiovascular cases; may accept 0 to 2 years of clinical experience in a related field based on Center needs.
  • Three years of experience as a Materials Manager for a hospital, surgery center, or high-volume physician office preferred.
  • Bachelor degree in Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, written, computer, and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be customer-focused and able to understand the needs of internal and external customers.
