Catalyst was formed as part of the Stanford Medicine Integrated Strategic Plan and is supported by the Dean of the School of Medicine and the two CEOs of the health systems.

We are seeking a Catalyst Business Analyst to facilitate and administer programs or functions under minimal supervision.

The Catalyst program identifies strong candidates for translational projects inside the Stanford Medicine clinical areas to validate and de-risk medical innovations. The Business Analyst BA role is a critical part of this mission. This person will review candidate projects. After project selection, the BA may continue to assist with project development.

Ideal candidates will have a passion for healthcare, the pulse of the healthcare startup community, and know how to talk to and interface with brilliant entrepreneurs.

Duties include:

• The Business Analyst BA will assist in the execution of the Catalyst Evaluation process for projects seeking entry into the Catalyst program. • Due Diligence includes Market Analysis, Competitive Analysis, Business Plan Review, IT and Data Analysis, alignment with Stanford SWOT analysis. • BA will participate in assessing and providing recommendations to Stanford Medicine Catalyst Leaders for review and approval. • Facilitate the planning and operations for programs or functions that have significant business, regulatory, and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise. • Evaluate programs or functions policies and procedures. Identify issues and develop alternative solutions, which may include changes to programs, policies, and procedures. • Review and analyze trends to advise and develop recommendations to achieve or modify the goals of the program or function. • Represent the program or function within the department, unit, or school. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. • Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies. • Manage and contribute to the development of outreach strategy that may include relationship development, communications, and compliance. • May develop and/or oversee budgets, manage finances, including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting. • May lead cross-team efforts or direct other staff or interns to complete projects.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters or Ph.D. degree in Business Science or related field • Strong technical and quantitative skills with demonstrated ability to execute complex analysis • Ability to communicate effectively to build influential relationships with senior management, executives, and external partners • Experience managing projects and programs with successful delivery to deadlines • Experience with the following software: Google Suite, MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Airtable, Smartsheets, Mural, Lucidchart, Tableau, and Illustrator (a plus) • Experience working in Client Relationship Management, Marketing, CRM software preferably Salesforce

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines • Ability to accomplish goals working through formal and informal channels with diplomacy and tactfulness • Demonstrated creativity, problem-solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills • Demonstrated ability to develop and meet budget goals • Demonstrated solid planning and organizational skills • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills • Strong relevant subject matter knowledge • Ability to direct the work of others for jobs requiring supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks • Frequently stand, walk, sitting, grasp lightly, fine manipulation • Occasionally use a telephone • Rarely lift, carry, push, pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds

The expected pay range for this position is $120,038 to $153,486 per annum.
