Location: UF Health Child Psychiatry – Springhill
4197 NW 86th Terrace 
Gainesville, Florida 32606   

Schedule: Monday - Friday (40hrs. per week) | 8:00am-5:00pm

The Health Technician participates in the care of patients in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in rooms, completing simple tasks to prepare patients for exams/procedures and providing patient/family support. The health technician assists the nursing staff and healthcare provider during exams when necessary. Performs clinic specific technical skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Patient, electronic health record, and exam rooms are appropriately prepared per practice guidelines and provider preference.
  • Practice flow and room utilization are efficient.
  • Ensures that all members of the healthcare team have current and necessary information to provide safe patient care.
  • Patient phone calls will be processed accurately and in a timely manner per UFHP and practice specific policies.
  • Practice environment is maintained in accordance with UFHP policies and procedures and safety/infection control standards.
  • Contributes to the efficient operation of the practice by performing other related duties as may be required.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • State of Florida CNA Certification or current nursing student preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within the first month of employment.
  • Person should display initiative, have the ability to multitask and be able to take on responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member is essential.
  • Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
  • Must complete clinic-specific training requirements and demonstrate competency of these to UFP nurse education team.

 

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within the first month of employment. Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:

  • Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
