Aon is looking for a Pharmacy Financial Sr. Consultant

The Pharmacy Financial Sr. Consultant will work within the Pharmacy Financial Analytic Team in supporting the broader Pharmacy Team on a range of activities, including but not limited to providing technical, financial and consultative support to consulting staff on a variety of client projects.

What the day will look like:

  • Active member of the Pharmacy Financial Team
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills: Analytical thinking systematically tests and probes to discover trends and eliminate potential problems
  • Project management experience: Establishes priorities for multiple tasks/projects based on timeliness, importance, and urgency of project completion.
  • Assist with the execution of some or all of the following types of consulting projects:
    • RFPs
    • Market Checks
    • Preparing engagement/client materials for sales and marketing efforts
    • Procurement/Renewal projects
    • Vendor management, including negotiations, problem resolution, and regional/local interface
    • Benefit strategy and clinical program review
    • Plan design benchmarking
  • Support Pharmacy team in the area of pharmacy benefits, developing knowledge on best practices and market trends, and contributing to the developments and enhancement of new and existing products and services
  • Responds quickly to client and colleague requests and works to provide timely and accurate information and documentation; Works with a high level of interest, energy and enthusiasm to meet or exceeds client expectations.
  • Teamwork and Resource Management: Understands and values all roles and functions needed to complete client projects and provide on-going service; Communicates and works well with colleagues at all levels and is viewed as a team player
  • Ethical Behavior: Adheres to professional standards and ethics in one’s field and demonstrates the highest level of integrity and honesty in all interactions

 Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • Proficiency in PBM pricing structures and guarantees
  • Experience analyzing pharmacy data
  • Deep understanding of the relationship between PBMs and Employer Groups
  • Ability to strategically interpret the financial impact of PBM formularies and programs on Employer Group contracts
  • Self-starter with the aptitude to serve clients and manage project work from start to finish
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience working with large claim data sets; experience with SQL is a bonus

Education:

  • Bachelors degree.
    • Preferred majors: Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management, Actuarial Science

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. 

 

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.  The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
