Description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to lead plant safety initiatives. This role ensures a safe, compliant, and healthy work environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and improve safety programs (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI).
  • Develop, review, and enforce plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Assign, track, and report on safety and regulatory training.
  • Manage workers' compensation cases, including reporting and light-duty assignments.
  • Conduct safety audits, identify hazards, and create corrective action plans.
  • Oversee the safety budget (PPE, supplies, first aid resources).
  • Prepare weekly and monthly safety performance reports.
  • Serve as Medical First Responder and lead incident investigations .
  • Conduct safety reviews for Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Support overall compliance and perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA standards, and workers' compensation laws.
  • Certified in First Aid, AED, and CPR.
  • Experience in hazard recognition, incident investigation, and case management.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with plant leadership.
  • Willing to travel occasionally (up to 10 days per year).
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied plant conditions (heat, cold, noise, heights).
Ideal Candidate
  • Manages 2 direct reports (Safety Specialist and Safety Technician). May also oversee Training Coordinator in the future.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and strong in leadership.
  • Hands-on, visible on the plant floor, and able to engage employees.
  • Collaborates closely with Environmental Manager and Facility Nurse to strengthen plant safety culture.
