Description
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to lead plant safety initiatives. This role ensures a safe, compliant, and healthy work environment for all employees. Key Responsibilities
Lead and improve safety programs (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI).
Develop, review, and enforce plant safety policies and procedures.
Assign, track, and report on safety and regulatory training.
Manage workers' compensation cases, including reporting and light-duty assignments.
Conduct safety audits, identify hazards, and create corrective action plans.
Oversee the safety budget (PPE, supplies, first aid resources).
Prepare weekly and monthly safety performance reports.
Serve as Medical First Responder and lead incident investigations .
Conduct safety reviews for Management of Change (MOC) processes.
Support overall compliance and perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
5+ years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA standards, and workers' compensation laws.
Certified in First Aid, AED, and CPR.
Experience in hazard recognition, incident investigation, and case management.
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and with plant leadership.
Willing to travel occasionally (up to 10 days per year).
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied plant conditions (heat, cold, noise, heights).
Ideal Candidate
Manages 2 direct reports (Safety Specialist and Safety Technician). May also oversee Training Coordinator in the future.
Organized, detail-oriented, and strong in leadership.
Hands-on, visible on the plant floor, and able to engage employees.
Collaborates closely with Environmental Manager and Facility Nurse to strengthen plant safety culture.
