Health Plan Eligibility Coordinator — Remote (US)
Location: Remote (United States)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM EST (must be able to work EST hours; preference for EST/CST)
Pay Rate: $19.06/hr
Type: Contract / Temporary (W2)
Position Overview
We’re hiring a Health Plan Eligibility Coordinator to support health plan enrollment and eligibility operations. This is a highly manual, accuracy-driven role focused on verifying and updating member eligibility, resolving discrepancies, and preventing downstream claim/billing issues.
Job Responsibilities
Verify and update member enrollment and eligibility information
Perform manual eligibility/enrollment updates (including urgent and “fallout” items)
Research and resolve enrollment discrepancies and claim-related eligibility issues
Maintain data integrity to prevent downstream impacts to claims and billing
Partner with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate enrollment processing
Handle physical/paper documents and complete manual data entry into systems
Qualifications
Top Skills (What We’re Looking For)
Eligibility & Enrollment processing experience (demographics, effective/term dates, plan changes, terminations, etc.)
Strong attention to detail / data accuracy in high-volume, manual work
Analytical problem-solving (researching issues via reports, recon files, and eligibility/claim inquiries)
Required Qualifications
Customer service experience
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Problem-solving and research skills
Strong organization skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
Verifiable High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare enrollment/eligibility knowledge
Familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare/MCOs
Experience with eligibility systems (ex: QNXT or similar)
Comfort learning multiple systems and using Excel
