Pay Range: $25.00-$35.00 per hour. Please note that this is the current salary range for the position. Starting pay rates are determined based on years of experience and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY
American Indian Health & Services is looking for a Health Information Technician to join our growing public health primary care outpatient clinic. This position plays a vital role in managing patient health information, supporting medical records operations, processing releases of information, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
This position regularly requires the employee to use their hands, reach with their hands and arms, and communicate verbally. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit and may occasionally be required to stoop or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. The position also requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee may be exposed to infectious substances, hazardous chemicals, hazardous waste, and moving equipment. These risks are minimized through compliance with established safety policies and procedures. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.
Clinic employees may be required to remain at or report to work during public health incidents or emergencies. This may require a non-traditional schedule or duties outside the employee's normal assignment during the incident or emergency.
