Title:Health Consultant / Producer
Job Summary: We are looking for a self-motivated and driven individual with an in-depth knowledge of group benefits, health and supplemental insurance, and consulting experience. The ability to formulate strong relationships to ensure growth and retention is a must.
How you'll make an impact:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Pierce Group Benefits has a great network of opportunities with our existing client base. The efforts and responsibilities associated with this position are critical for driving sales revenue, increasing market credibility, and delivering value to our customers by:
- Preparing and providing recommendations regarding benefit strategy options for account renewal and presenting budgetary funding analysis to client leadership teams and executive board members
- Working with company executives and high-level management in the delivery of client engagements, supporting the team in day-to-day client management, and high-quality client presentations
- Maintaining and strengthening relationships with top leadership of each account
- Providing advice to our clients on insurance, employee benefits, and compliance issues
- Presenting viable solutions that are both creative and cost-effective to address company and client needs and have a sound understanding of the key employee benefit issues facing employers today
- Delivering client-focused solutions to create long-lasting relationships
- Using our existing network of clients to create a rapport with new potential clients to generate engagement (may include scheduling appointments, onsite visits, email outreach campaigns, attending conferences, etc.)
- Identifying prospective customers, lead generation, cold calling prospects, and conversion
- Being knowledgeable about our products and services
- Contacting new and existing customers to discuss needs and emphasizing the features of products to highlight how they solve customers’ problems
- Demonstrating good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions
- Responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), as necessary
- Analyzing business requirements, customer needs, and providing a consultative approach to clients to design employee benefits packages
- Ensuring prompt and consistent delivery including closed-loop communications with all internal/external parties
- Working closely with the sales team to negotiate prices and terms and prepare sales agreements
- Maintaining contact lists and following up with customers to continue relationships
- Other duties as assigned
About you:
- In-depth knowledge of group benefits, health and supplemental insurance, and consulting experience
- 5+ years of group benefits and health insurance experience
- Health and Life Insurance License
- Experience with financial and health insurance analysis
- Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills
- Experience delivering client-focused solutions
- Ability to interpret, present, and recommend proposals and renewals
- Knowledge of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia markets a plus
- Goal-oriented and accountable to achieve results
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to self-motivate and self-manage
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to create long-lasting relationships
- Strong work ethic and enthusiasm for new challenges
- Valid Driver’s License
- Travel required
