    Description

    The Health Center Coordinator provides administrative, clerical, and front office support to ensure efficient daily operations within a university-based health center. This role serves as the initial point of contact for students, parents, and staff seeking guidance regarding clinical services. The Health Center Coordinator manages appointment scheduling, communicates with patients, maintains electronic medical records, and supports clinical staff with essential administrative tasks. The position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with institutional policies and health care industry regulations. Reporting to the Director of Health Services, this is a full-time, 12-month in-person position that includes a full slate of university benefits.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage front desk operations, including greeting patients, answering phones, and responding to inquiries.

    • Schedule and confirm appointments, coordinate provider calendars, and manage patient flow.

    • Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and university policies.

    • Process patient forms, referrals, and immunization records

    • Assist Director of Health Services with verbal and written correspondence

    • Assist clinicians with administrative tasks including retrieving records and managing correspondence

    • Coordinate communication between students, providers, campus departments, and external healthcare partners

    • Support billing processes by verifying insurance status

    • Maintain office supplies, equipment, and inventory for clinical and administrative needs.

    • Participate in quality improvement activities and support health center initiatives aligned with university goals

    • Uphold a welcoming, student centered environment that reflects the university's commitment to accessible, high quality health services.
