The School District of Reedsburg is looking for a Health Paraprofessional.
QUALIFICATIONS: CNA, Medical Assistant or LPN preferred but willing to train the right person, current CPR certification and First Aid training or be willing to complete within 30 days; demonstrates competency of health-related skills, good judgment, confidentiality and possess the ability to work harmoniously with students, school nurse, teachers and other employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide basic emergency care for illness or injury.
- Monitor students' health status during periods of short-term rest/recovery.
- Administer medication according to district policy and carry out nursing procedures under the delegation of school nurse.
- Maintain student health records, health room log via computers and patient care records.
- Maintain all necessary supplies and equipment in the health room.
- Maintain cleanliness of health office.
- Notify parents or appropriate personnel of emergency situation and illnesses/injuries.
- Assist in school health screening (vision, hearing, etc.)
- Understand the importance of confidentiality.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities delegated by the school nurse. Duties may include tube feeding, intermittent clean catheterization, toileting, etc.
