Job Goal:

The Health Aide delivers school district health services, under the direction of the District Health Services Coordinator, to the students of Lake Geneva Schools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Triaging and administering first aid to students
  • Medication administration (oral, inhaler, insulin, etc.)
  • Monitoring diabetics' blood sugar throughout the day
  • Provide direct care for students with chronic conditions as directed by the school nurse.
  • Track and manage medication administration according to physician instructions and district policy
  • Contacting parents as needed to arrange for pick-up
  • Act as a liaison between students, staff, parents, and the District RN
  • Maintain complete and accurate health records, health testing, immunization reports, vision screening and hearing screenings
  • Participate in required district and department training
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The employee has frequent contact with students and members of the community. While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to engage in conversations and is required to utilize communication skills, such as speaking and listening. The employee is required to sit, stand, and walk at regular intervals throughout the workday. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Essential functions require a high level of concentration and attention to detail.
