Position: Headwaters Ice Rink Ice Guard
Schedule: Flexible hours depending on programs, lessons, and special events
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
What You'll Do:
- Monitor ice activities and ensure safety during public sessions, lessons, hockey games, and events
- Respond calmly and effectively to medical emergencies
- Open, close, and secure the facility
- Distribute and collect rental skates
- Handle incidents, report disciplinary issues, and assist guests professionally
- Support private/group rentals and special events
- Assist with concessions, light cleaning, and inventory management
- Enforce facility rules and Parks & Recreation policies
- Communicate professionally with staff, volunteers, and the public
- Train and supervise volunteers as needed
- Collect user fees and maintain accurate records
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- One to three months related experience or equivalent
- Effective oral and written communication
- First Aid and CPR certification within two weeks of hire
- Valid Indiana Driver's License if operating a City vehicle
- Ice skating experience recommended
