Description
The Header Operator produces cold-formed metal parts safely and efficiently according to production schedules and blueprint specifications. This role requires hands-on mechanical skill to set up tooling, monitor machines, and maintain tight tolerances.
Set up and adjust cold heading machines, feeds, speeds, cams, and dies for production runs.
Read blueprints and technical drawings to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
Load raw material wire coils or rod stock into machinery safely.
Inspect first-run and ongoing sample pieces using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Troubleshoot machine errors, adjust tooling, and correct feeding or forming issues.
Perform routine maintenance and keep the work area clean per safety and 5S standards.
Experience: 1 to 3+ years of metalworking or manufacturing machine operation experience.
Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading, and use of precision measuring tools.
Physical: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
