The Manitowoc Public School District is seeking a highly organized and motivating leader for the position of Tennis Coach. The MPSD is proud of its history and traditions, and is looking for an individual who has the vision to lead the entire program from the youth through the high school level. The candidate will serve as a positive role model who is skillful in the art of coaching high school athletes with an emphasis on building relationships and character development. Qualified candidates must have excellent knowledge of the game, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, students, parents and the community. Candidates will also have high expectations for performance and success and will create an atmosphere of excitement that grows the entire program. Prior head coaching experience is preferred, but not required.
The MPSD employs over 700 individuals including 350 certified teachers. Candidates for the coaching position who are interested in a teaching position with the MPSD are encouraged to review WECAN for any current or future positions in the district.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Oversee entire program from youth to the the high school level
Establish an identity for our entire program in regards to character, expectations, and our defensive and offensive identity
Works with the athletic department and other coaches in the speed and strength program
Run a focused and positive practice that builds skill and team concepts
Delegates duties effectively to entire staff from assistant coaches to lower level coaches
Fosters a culture of excellence on and off the field so students are performing at high levels academically and athletically.
Manage equipment inventory and purchasing and follow MPSD guidelines
