Head Sommelier

POSITION DETAILS:

Major Food Group is hiring a Head Sommelier to join our team!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative Operations

Leading, investigating and closing regularly scheduled inventory.

Printing Wine By the Glass, Liquor Pages and ensuring menus on the floor are current. 

Ensuring all products are checked in and correct on all deliveries. 

In conjunction with the beverage director keeping Binwise up to date and current. 

The Head Sommelier will be responsible for the daily upkeep of the beverage program with help from the Regional Beverage Manager. They will be introduced to administrative responsibilities and the weekly flow of the beverage program while focusing on service. The Head Sommelier should be on the floor four nights a week with one administrative shift throughout the week. 

Driving Sales & Sommelier Team Guidance

The Head Sommelier will assist guiding the beverage team on the floor. They will not only direct the team on what to do but will constantly train the proper order of operations to maximize transactions. They will help cultivate a larger sense of urgency and focus among the team leading to more service interaction and overall sales
