Compensation: $80,000–$85,000 base + commission + performance incentives + potential

equity


Job Summary

This role blends operational leadership, nutrition program oversight, and revenue-driving

sales strategy. The ideal candidate is both relationship-oriented and performance-driven,

capable of managing complex school meal programs while also leading a high-performing event

sales function.

You will oversee approximately 7,500 daily school meals, manage charter school partnerships

and compliance, while also driving event sales growth across corporate, social, and

wedding markets.

Key Responsibilities

School Partnerships & Nutrition Program Leadership

Serve as the primary point of contact for charter school clients, building strong, long-term

relationships

Develop, negotiate, and manage school contracts, including renewals, pricing, and

service expectations

Lead onboarding and implementation of new school programs

Oversee federal and state reimbursement processes, ensuring accurate claims,

documentation, and audit readiness

Ensure compliance with USDA Food & Nutrition Service and National School Lunch

Program (NSLP) requirements

Collaborate with the Executive Chef on 21-day rotating menu development

Manage dietary accommodations and special nutrition needs

Stay current on Rhode Island and federal child nutrition regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Business, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 2–5+ years of experience in school nutrition programs, food service contract management, or government reimbursement programs (CACFP, NSLP, SBP, SFSP, SMP, RIDE)

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of federal and state child nutrition program compliance requirements

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data/records management systems

Preferred:

  • Experience working with charter schools or K–12 food service operations

  • Experience using the Health E Pro software program. This is what we use to facilitate menu compliance at the state and federal levels.

  • Familiarity with Rhode Island child nutrition program requirements

  • Background in catering or high-volume food service environments

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts and competing deadlines
