At TRC Talent Solutions, we partner with industry-leading organizations to connect top-tier talent with high-impact leadership opportunities. We are currently working with a rapidly growing aerospace manufacturer establishing a new production facility in Roswell, GA, focused on the design and manufacturing of advanced small turbojet engines.

Summary

The Head of Production is the senior operational leader responsible for end-to-end ownership of turbojet engine assembly, integration, and test operations. This role is accountable for production output, quality, schedule adherence, and operational scalability within a high-mix, regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring deep experience in running production systems at scale, managing shop floor teams, and driving resolution of test and manufacturing issues in collaboration with engineering and quality functions. The ideal candidate brings strong execution discipline, technical manufacturing expertise, and proven leadership in aerospace or similarly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end assembly, integration, and test operations for turbojet engine production

  • Plan, schedule, and execute production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly output targets

  • Balance throughput, yield, quality, and compliance to ensure on-time delivery performance

  • Lead daily production planning, sequencing, and schedule recovery efforts

  • Oversee PAT, FAT, and acceptance testing processes, including rework flow and disposition decisions

  • Drive rapid root cause analysis and resolution of test and production failures in partnership with Engineering and Quality

  • Establish structured feedback loops between test outcomes and manufacturing process improvements

  • Manage production staffing plans, shift structures, training ramps, and labor allocation

  • Scale technician and supervisor capacity to meet increasing production demand

  • Provide hands-on leadership and maintain strong shop floor visibility

  • Coach, develop, and mentor production staff while addressing performance and skill development needs

  • Implement training and cross-training programs to improve workforce flexibility and productivity

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to resolve production constraints and issues

  • Establish and enforce standard work, process discipline, and production flow controls

  • Ensure readiness for new product variants, configuration changes, and production rate increases

  • Maintain strong EHS compliance aligned with aerospace manufacturing standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • Proven experience scaling production operations (greenfield startup, facility ramp-up, or major production rate increases)

  • Direct ownership of assembly and test operations in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience managing daily output, labor planning, and production schedule recovery

  • Strong leadership experience managing technicians and supervisors in high-pressure environments

  • Experience working within AS9100, DoD, and/or FAA-regulated manufacturing environments

  • Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and quality systems

  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational discipline, accountability, and execution excellence

  • U.S. citizenship required due to defense contracting requirements
