POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Head of Health North America your roles and responsibilities will include:
The client is seeking a Head of Health North America to lead and develop health strategies, policies, and programs across North America. This senior-level leader will oversee occupational health, employee wellness, medical response, travel health, pandemic preparedness, mental health, health promotion, and hygiene programs across administrative, R&D, and production locations.
The position will work closely with Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), Security, Facilities, HR, Legal, and business leaders to ensure compliance, operational excellence, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement across all health-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Health North America strategies, policies, and practices.
- Lead regional occupational health and employee wellness programs.
- Oversee Occupational Health & Medicine, Medical Response, Travel Health, Pandemic Preparedness, Mental Health, Health Promotion, and Hygiene initiatives.
- Manage external healthcare providers, vendors, and service agreements.
- Provide technical guidance on medical insurance and employee health programs.
- Assess and support health programs across administrative, R&D, and manufacturing/production sites.
- Partner with SHE, HR, Legal, Security, Facilities, and business units.
- Represent North American Health in regional leadership and cross-regional governance meetings.
- Ensure accurate reporting, operational excellence, and cost efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and technology adoption within health programs.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate health standards.
- Travel to company locations as needed, up to approximately 20%.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Head of Health North America who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Head of Health North America would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
" 10+ years of relevant healthcare experience.
" Must be a Nurse Practitioner, Medical Doctor, Physician Assistant, or hold a Master s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
" Occupational Health Certification required.
" Strong corporate healthcare experience with an understanding of organizational dynamics.
" Experience developing and managing health programs at a regional or enterprise level.
" Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
" Ability to work independently and take ownership of strategic initiatives.
" Strong combination of strategic thinking and hands-on operational management.
" Comfortable using technology for communication, reporting, and program management.
" Willingness to travel up to 20%.
