SUMMARY

The Head of EPC Biz Planning & Control has overall responsibility for leading enterprise planning and HQs reporting, acrossQcells EPC, while serving as a key strategic coordinator for major business priorities. This role drives company-wide business planning, monitors performance against the business plan, revenue and P&L objectives. Provides governance, as it relates to the Hanwha Solutions Delegation of Authority and EPC Delegation of Authority, across the EPC lifecycle to support sound decision-making before and during project execution. This position supports risk management and cross-functional alignment to strengthen operational discipline, improve execution quality, and support long-term business competitiveness.

 

This role reports to the Head of Risk Management Office, or another senior leader designated by the CEO and manages the EPC Corporate Planning Team.

 

This position is located in Houston, TX and ishybrid, in accordance with the company’s Office Mobilization Plan (OMP). Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time.This position is expected to travel up to 40%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Delegation of Authority Governance

  • Provide check-and-balance oversight across the EPC lifecycle, including bid review, proposal submission, LNTP, contract execution, and project delivery as it relates to the DoA
  • Implements improvements to the DoA process to create more efficient business processes.

Enterprise Performance Management and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead company-wide business planning and annual target-setting processes across the EPC organization, including all projects and subsidiaries.
  • Oversee P&L management across all business units, projects, and affiliated entities; monitor revenue, margin, and cost performance against plan.
  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasting and variance analysis; prepare and present performance outlook reports to senior leadership and HQ.
  • Develop and manage mid-to-long term financial and business strategies to support sustainable growth and competitive positioning.
  • Lead integrated planning cycles (strategic plan, annual operating plan, rolling forecasts) and ensure alignment between financial targets and operational execution.

Strategic Coordination & Executive Support

  • Lead or co-develop mid-to-long term strategic plans, translating business priorities into actionable roadmaps and goals with measurable KPIs
  • Partner with leadership and strategy teams to align major initiatives with overall business direction.
  • Support execution of key cross-functional priorities through coordination, follow-up, and organizational alignment.
  • Serve as a strategic liaison to help translate executive priorities into actionable business plans and KPIs.
  • Develops, leads, and updates the Company’s S&OP.
  • Elevates key business priorities from the EPC to HQs.
  • Leads the annual business planning process.

Financial Leadership

  • Lead the EPC Corporate Planning and FP&A teams to support business objectives.
  • Promote disciplined cross-functional communication across departments, levels, and stakeholders.
  • Strengthen planning and control capabilities that improve execution consistency and organizational effectiveness.
  • Regular attendance per company policy; occasional travel (up to ~40%) to offices, partner sites, or project locations as needed.
  • Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field required; MBA preferred
  • 18+ years of progressive experience in business planning, FP&A, finance, strategy, project controls, or related leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-level FP&A functions, including P&L ownership, financial forecasting, and performance reporting across multiple business units or subsidiaries
  • Experience developing and executing mid-to-long term strategic plans in a large-scale EPC or project-based organization
  • Deep understanding of the full EPC lifecycle, including sales, estimating, design, contract negotiation, award, and execution
  • Strong knowledge of solar development and EPC execution, including stage-gate requirements and core project documentation
  • Working knowledge of proposals, PQ documents, LNTPs, EPC contracts, progress billings, claims, and change orders
  • Ability to assess business risk, evaluate execution readiness, and support practical decision-making across stakeholders
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across diverse functions, departments, and leadership levels
  • Strong leadership in coordinating stakeholders and minimizing risk through timely escalation and alignment
  • Ability to build accountability and encourage disciplined execution across direct and indirect teams
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with executive presence; adept at simplifying complex topics for decision-making

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Senior leadership experience (VP level or above) in a major EPC, energy, or project-based organization
  • Renewable energy or solar EPC industry background strongly preferred
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business, Finance, or Engineering preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Korean)—excellent verbal and written communication in both languages, with ability to present complex information clearly
