Head of Accounting | Manufacturing 

A  private equity-backed manufacturing company is seeking a Head of Accounting to lead the transformation of its accounting and controllership function.

Reporting to the CFO, this newly created role will oversee corporate accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting, controls, systems, and process improvement. This is a hands-on opportunity to modernize and scale the function within a growing, acquisitive business.

Location: Cleveland, OH 
Compensation: $220,000- 250,000 + bonus 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transformation of the accounting and controllership organization
• Improve and standardize monthly/quarterly close and reporting processes
• Oversee technical accounting, U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and external audit
• Lead ERP/system optimization, automation, and process improvements
• Support acquisitions, integration, purchase accounting, and transaction readiness
• Partner with the CFO, executive leadership, operations, auditors, lenders, and PE sponsor
• Build, develop, and lead a high-performing accounting team

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting/controllership experience
• Prior Controller, CAO, VP Accounting, or similar senior leadership experience
• Industry experience is required; PE-backed, manufacturing and/or distribution
• Strong U.S. GAAP and technical accounting expertise
• Proven track record transforming accounting/controllership functions
• Experience with ERP implementations, system optimization, and automation
• Strong background in controls, reporting, and audit
