    Qalam Seminary is seeking a Head of Academics to provide overall leadership and management of the seminary's academic operations. This role oversees the academic team and faculty coordination, ensures the consistent delivery of curriculum and instruction, and upholds academic standards and policies across all programs. The Head of Academics reports directly to the Associate Director and plays a central role in maintaining the academic quality and integrity of the institution.

    What you'll do

    •      Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the academic team and its functions.

    •      Oversee the implementation of curriculum across all programs, ensuring consistency and quality.

    •      Support faculty in course planning, instructional delivery, and academic best practices.

    •      Develop, maintain, and enforce academic policies and procedures, including those related to attendance, grading, and academic standing.

    •      Monitor academic quality and student progress, identifying areas for improvement.

    •      Manage the academic calendar, scheduling, and coordination of courses and terms.

    •      Ensure academic systems and tools (such as the learning management system) are properly maintained and utilized.

    •      Address academic concerns and escalate significant student or faculty issues to the Associate Director as needed.

    •      Prepare regular reports on academic performance and operations for the Associate Director.

    •      Represent the academic department in institutional planning and decision-making.

    Qualifications

    •      Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, ideally in education, Islamic studies, or a related field.

    •      Several years of experience in academic administration or leadership, ideally within a seminary, madrasa, or higher education setting.

    •      Demonstrated experience managing a team and overseeing academic programs.

    •      Strong understanding of curriculum development and academic policy.

    •      Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    •      Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive academic and student matters.

    •      Comfort working within a faith-based or mission-driven institutional environment.
