The New Berlin West Athletics and Activities Department is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable individuals for the roles of Head JV2 Baseball Coach and Assistant JV2 Baseball Coach for the upcoming spring season. We are looking for coaches to join a winning culture characterized by strong community support and a tradition of athletic excellence.
These roles focus on foundational skill development, situational execution, and preparing student-athletes to transition successfully to higher levels of competition. Successful candidates will mentor student-athletes by emphasizing fundamental growth, teamwork, and character building both on and off the field.
Primary Responsibilities
Head JV2 Baseball Coach
Lead the daily operations of the JV2 baseball team, establishing team expectations, lineups, and practice schedules aligned with the overall high school program's philosophy.
Direct daily instruction on foundational baseball mechanics (hitting, fielding, pitching, and baserunning) and situational game strategy.
Design and execute high-energy, fundamental-focused practice plans and individual drill periods.
Oversee game-day operations, including lineup card management, pitch-count tracking, in-game tactical adjustments, and third-base or dugout coaching.
Serve as the primary contact for players and parents regarding schedules and team expectations, while monitoring academic progress and fostering player accountability.
Utilize digital coaching and scoring tools (e.g., GameChanger, HUDL, or district software) to track player statistics and review game film.
Assistant JV2 Baseball Coach
Assist in leading daily instruction, technical development, and position-specific stations (e.g., outfield play, infield work, or pitchers/catchers).
Help execute practice plans, direct assigned drill groups, and offer one-on-one mechanical feedback to student-athletes.
Execute assigned roles during games, including base coaching, bullpen management, stat tracking, and dugout organization.
Support student-athlete academic progress, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Collaborate closely with the Head JV2 Coach and Varsity staff to ensure consistent terminology and mechanical instruction across all levels.
