Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Head Girls Cross Country Coach to lead and develop our high school tennis program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, experience in coaching or collegiate track and field experience, and the ability to mentor student-athletes while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and conduct effective practices to develop players skills, techniques, and meet strategies. • Prepare the team for competitions, make strategic decisions, and ensure players compete at their highest level. • Mentor athletes to improve their abilities and foster sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork. • Ensure adherence to all school and state athletic association regulations regarding safety, eligibility, and conduct. • Oversee the maintenance of facilities, equipment, and team uniforms. • Maintain clear communication with athletes, parents, school administration, and athletic staff regarding schedules, expectations, and team progress. • Encourage student-athletes to maintain academic eligibility and support their success in the classroom. • Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environment.
Qualifications
Experience Prior coaching experience preferred or a strong background in competitive track.
Certifications CPR First Aid certification and any required state coaching certifications.
Skills Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to motivate and develop student-athletes.
Availability Ability to commit to the season, including practices, meets, and postseason meets.
Preferred Qualifications Experience coaching at the high school or collegiate level. Knowledge of high school track and field rules and regulations. Ability to drive an activity bus and obtain necessary transportation certifications.
Salary Based on experience and school district policies.
