Head Custodian Elementary Schools

Basic Function: Under the direction of the Manager of Buildings & Grounds, in association with the building administrator maintains the building in a clean, orderly and safe condition. Oversees the activities of the evening lead cleaner and building cleaners. Basic work week is 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week, 7:00am - 3:30pm. Weekend work or working beyond scheduled end time may be necessary to accommodate events, emergencies or inclement weather.

Working Relationships: Reports to: Manager of Buildings & Grounds

Oversees: Evening Lead Cleaner and, Building Cleaner(s)

Works With: Building Administrative Staff, Teachers and Support Staff, Maintenance Staff

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION:

Required Experience or Training: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

Must have experience or training with boilers, heating equipment and air conditioning. Some supervisory or management experience or training in the custodial maintenance of a building and building safety and security.

Desired Experience or Training: Work experience with custodial maintenance duties. Mechanically inclined and knowledge of hand and power tools.
