Auburn School District Job Title: Head Custodian - Elementary Reports To: Building Administrator Unit Classification: Public School Employees of Auburn (PSEA) Duties and responsibilities :
Cleaning
and
upkeep
of
assigned
areas/facilities
to
include
but
not
limited
to
sweeping,
dusting,
and
mopping.
Empty
garbage
cans,
clean
windows,
walls,
furniture,
restrooms,
etc.
Deliver
boxed
paper
to
areas
as
needed.
Outside
duties
include
raking
shavings
in
play
areas,
picking
up
debris
from
school
grounds,
landscape,
parking
lots,
and
bus
zones;
etc.
Maintain
operations
of
heating
plant,
plumbing,
and
mechanical
devices.
Perform
simple
maintenance
and
repairs.
Other
related
duties
and
responsibilities
as

completed
district
in-service
custodial
training
course
or
be
willing
to
complete
the
first
one
available.
Must
be
willing
to
follow
established
district
practices.
Knowledge
and
use
of
custodial
cleaning
procedures,
including
the
care
of
carpeting
and
other
types
of
flooring.
Employees
are
expected
to
use
chemical
products
and/or
pesticides
and
should
not
be
sensitive
or
allergic
to
such.
Employees
must
establish
and
maintain
a
good
rapport
with
staff,
students,
and
the
public.
Ability
to
work
independently
or
work
under
the
direction
of
others.
Ability
to
communicate
effectively
with
district
staff
and
community
patrons.
Employment
is
on
a
conditional
basis
pending
completion
of
a
state
and
national
background
check
which
will
be
at
the
expense
of
the
applicant
