The Role
This is an important leadership role. Every member who walks into Southlands gets 60 minutes which our coach’s that makes the other 23 hours of the day better!
The Head Coach owns that outcome — not just for the classes you teach, but for every class on the schedule. You set the standard for what coaching looks like here, you develop the coaches who deliver it, and you’re accountable for a member experience consistent enough that people keep showing up.
This is a coaching job and a leadership job. If you only want one of those, this isn’t the right fit.
What You’ll Own
Coach the floor. Teach your assigned classes at a level that sets the bar. Know names. Know goals. Know who’s been gone for two weeks and say something about it when they come back.
Build the team. Recruit, onboard, and develop coaches. Run class observations and give feedback that’s specific and actionable, not vague encouragement. Hold new coaches to the standard from day one rather than hoping they grow into it.
Own the schedule. Manage coach coverage, subs, and last-minute gaps. A class never goes uncoached and never gets a coach who isn’t prepared.
Protect quality and safety. Audit template execution, form correction, equipment setup, and pacing across the schedule. Fix drift early. Escalate what needs escalating.
Drive results members can see. Champion heart-rate monitor adoption, Splat Point education, and benchmark participation. Make progress visible so members have a reason to stay.
Partner with the front of house. Work with the sales team on intro classes, first-timer conversion, and at-risk member outreach. A great first class is the single best retention tool we have — you make sure every one of them is great.
Represent the studio. Community events, member challenges, social content, local partnerships. You’re a face of Southlands outside the four walls, not just inside them.

How We Operate
Four core values run this studio. They’re the standard you’ll be coached against and the standard you’ll coach others against.
• Serve First, Lead Always — The member’s experience comes before your convenience. Leadership is a behavior, not a title.
• Own the Energy — You set the temperature of the room. Bad day, small class, Monday morning — doesn’t matter.
• Raise the Standard — Good enough isn’t. We get measurably better every quarter or we’re going backward.
• Win as One — Coaches, sales, and management run one playbook. No silos, no scoreboard-watching between departments.

Jobs That Make a Real Difference
About Us
Orangetheory is a science-based, full-body workout that uses technology to measure performance so members can prove they are improving. In a 60-minute class, led by a highly trained and certified coach, members target at least twelve minutes in the Orange Zone to raise their heart rate and charge up metabolism. The result is an increase in calorie burn post-workout, backed by the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC). After twelve minutes of hard work in the Orange Zone, your body burns additional calories as you recover over the next 24 hours.
Our Philosophy
For us, physical fitness transcends weight loss and bikini season. Fitness is a way of life -- in fact, our brand purpose is to help people live longer, more vibrant lives. When we help our members to put in the work at our studios, they will experience benefits in their day-to-day. They will be physically stronger, but beyond that, they will notice improvements to their mood, cognition, sleep, and overall happiness and quality of life. This workout actually changes your body at the cellular level and has been known to help members through disease, chronic illness, depression, and even heartbreak and the loss of loved ones. They’ll simply have the energy to play with their grandchildren, run a 5K, or go hiking. When we can help our members to take care of their body and mind, amazing things can happen. More Orangetheory, More LIFE.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Orangetheory is committed to encouraging, facilitating and upholding an environment centered on diversity, equity and inclusion across every facet of the Orangetheory brand. We will work to create a sustainable culture that supports a healthy space for learning and growing, valuing and empowering every employee, inspiring a diverse franchise network, and uplifting the members and communities we serve.
