Junior Topper Volleyball Coach Job Description
Position: Head Coach
Level: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th
Job Classification: Start Up/Seasonal Employee - Based on Student - Athlete Interest
Reports to: Junior Toppers Director
Summary: The Catholic Central Junior Toppers Volleyball program is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as a Head Volleyball Coach for one our 4th, 5th, 6t, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls volleyball teams. The position is responsible for providing leadership, instruction, and supervision to athletes participating in the Junior Toppers Volleyball Program. The coach plays a key role in fostering a positive and safe environment, teaching proper volleyball techniques and strategies and supporting the personal and athletic development of all participants in alignment with the mission and values of Carthage College.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend team practices and all competitions for the full duration of the competitive season
Managing all aspects of team operations, including practice planning and execution, game and coordination facility use with Catholic Central's Athletic Director
Ensure the team and program operate in full compliance with Catholic Central policies, Club Sports guidelines and all league and governing body rules.
Provide oversight and mentorship to student-athletes, serving as a positive role model while fostering sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and overall academic and personal growth.
Implement and enforce risk management strategies to ensure student safety during practices, competitions, and travel.
Ensure a fair and unbiased try out process and assist in determining appropriate roster sizes.
Work collaboratively with the Catholic Central Varsity Girls and Boys Head Volleyball Coaches
Provide updated rosters and travel information to the Director of Junior Toppers
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Junior Toppers
