Position OverviewThe Haul Truck Driver will work hand in hand with the Operations Manager to determine the prime schedule for transporting equipment to and from various job locations. The ideal candidate is familiar with paving operations in heavy highways and keeps safety at the forefront. Key Responsibilities Transport equipment to various job locations.Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working orderPerforms daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.Familiarity with Texas area and roadwaysUnderstands the complexities of the asphalt industryComplete trip tickets and paperworkUtilize phone and apps to track start and end time and travelKeeping the vehicle clean and fitting company standardsCarries out daily preventative maintenance, records, and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.Performs and logs pre-trip and post-trip inspections. QualificationsCDL (Texas Class A Driver's License) with clean record requiredMust meet DOT employment requirementsMinimum of 2 years experienceMust be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.Must be positive, friendly, and professional.Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required. Knowledge/Skill RequirementsEntry Level PositionHigh School Diploma or GED but not requiredKnowledge of how the vehicles operateWorking knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferredFamiliarity with OSHA regulations, a plus Working ConditionsDrivers may work at various locations, including construction sites, mines, and other heavy equipment operations.Employees must have the ability to perform sustained and vigorous activities in a variety of environments, temperatures, and weather conditions, which could include but not be limited to inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.Exposure to grease, oils, and lubricants.Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required.Travel may be required as our operations span throughout Texas.Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.Proper PPE is required at all times.
