Join Our Team Today!Under the guidance of the Cultivation Manager, the Harvest Technician performs the harvesting of mature cannabis plants, as well as cleans and prepares grow rooms for replanting. This hands-on role is critical to Vytal Options' mission of producing high-quality cannabis for the Pennsylvania Medical Cannabis Program. The Harvest Technician ensures timely turnover of flower rooms by following established procedures and schedules, supporting production efficiency and plant health standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Daily maintenance of machinery and monitoring of all ready-to-harvest plants; immediately report concerns to a manager/supervisor to ensure overall health of the cropHarvest plants following standard operating procedures; support operation of the automated trimmer as neededRemove plant trellis to prepare for harvest; hang plant trellis to prepare for replantingVerify labels are placed properly with coordinating plant/plant racks to maintain inventory flowTransport harvested cannabis plants to post-harvest utilizing rolling racksDisposal of cannabis waste in compliance with local and state regulations and standard operating proceduresUtilize industrial cleaning machinery to clean and remediate room after harvest in compliance with standard operating proceduresAssist in the transfer of vegetative cannabis plants to remediated roomEnsure all equipment is working properly in the flowering rooms; report any issues to managementEnsure daily compliance with policies and procedures including state compliance, security and safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and internal trainingDemonstrate regular and on-time attendance to all scheduled shiftsPerform other duties as assignedEXPERIENCE REQURIED: High School Diploma or GED requiredEducation in horticulture preferred, but not required1+ year(s) Experience in a horticulture or manufacturing environment is preferred but not requiredSelf-motivated with the ability to learn, improve, and communicate effectivelyAbility to work effectively in a team environment and as an individual contributorAbility to work all shifts (as needed), maintaining punctuality and attendanceAbility to perform labor-intensive duties that repeat on a weekly basisWORK CONDITIONS: This is a labor-intensive position, working in a greenhouse and manufacturing environment. This position is in an environment that frequently has a strong cannabis odor. This position will frequently be in-contact with cannabis in its vegetative, flowering, harvested, and cured phases. This position requires frequent direct contact with the cannabis plant before it is cured and contact post-cure. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: Sit, Walk, Stand, Crouch, Stoop, Bend, Reach, and Lift for extended periods of timeHold arms above head for extended periods of time to trim plants, hang trellis, and remove leaves Use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and/or feel objects, tools, and/or controls; and reach with hands and armsLift and/or move up to 75 pounds in totes or on rolling cartsScrub tables, floors, and other surfaces with brushes during remediationOperate light machinery including power washers, foam sprayers, and other remediation toolsOccasionally operate a forklift per standard operating procedure and supervisor directionWill be required to wear varying degrees of personal protective equipment for specific tasks (some tasks require partial PPE; some will require full PPE)Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focusMust be able to work in rooms with temperatures averaging 68 – 82 degrees with elevated humidity levels (45%-70%) and intense bright lights as well as areas with higher-than-average CO2 levels. Must be able to work in the dark or altered colored lighting utilizing green uv headlamps.
