    Summary
    • New Haven is a large grain terminal facility. We buy grain from our customers(farmers) and store it and then ship it back out when the markets allow us to ship it and make.
    • We are a shuttle train loader on the Norfolk southern line, so when we get a train applied to be loaded at our facility, we are at the mercy of the railroad putting that on our tracks, and then we have 24 hours to load it, and release it, otherwise the railroad charges us for the cars sitting and not moving materials.
    • Candidates have potential to transition to an client full time colleague in short amount of time.
    • With being a shuttle loader, there are incentives for full time client colleagues, a bonus on that weeks paycheck, for loading a shuttle train in less than 15 hours.
    • I would say we accomplish that about 90% of the time with our trains.
    • As for somebody starting out, it is going to be a lot of learning, client policies, and safety standards, and then housekeeping to keep fugitive grain dust down to a minimum.
    • We are unique here as we powerwash for our housekeeping, along with brooms, and shovels.
    • We also operate, skid steers, wheel loaders, semi trucks, and other various equipment on a daily basis, but we can train a candidate to operate the equipment.
    • A candidate must not be afraid of heights, as our silos are a minimum of 100 tall.
    • It is mostly walking on concrete roofs, and there are guarded hand rails along everything, but still tall points, and we also have a tunnel system underneath all the silos for our grain handling equipment.
    • The tunnels are not a confined space area, as they are 7 wide minimum and most are 7 tall.
    • The day to day tasks change, and a candidate has the potential to not be doing the same thing they were doing the day before, or let alone that morning and something completely different in the afternoon.
