BlueWave is hiring a Harness Design Engineer for an aerospace organization based in Long Beach, California. As a Harness Design Engineer, you will develop detailed 3D electrical harness models and manufacturing drawings while ensuring designs meet vehicle packaging, routing, and integration requirements. Opportunities are available at mid-level and senior experience levels.
Responsibilities
- Design and route electrical harnesses within complex aerospace vehicle structures using Siemens NX.
- Create and modify detailed 3D harness models.
- Generate 2D harness drawings and formboards for manufacturing.
- Work within established electrical architecture and design requirements.
- Account for routing redundancy, clearances, packaging constraints, and installation considerations.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams to resolve design challenges.
- Support detailed engineering and manufacturing documentation.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Siemens NX CAD and 3D electrical harness routing.
- Experience designing and routing electrical harnesses within complex vehicle structures.
- Experience creating 3D harness models and 2D engineering drawings or formboards.
- Understanding of electrical harness routing, packaging constraints, redundancy, and installation considerations.
- At least two years of relevant harness design experience for mid-level opportunities.
- At least five years of relevant harness design experience for senior opportunities.
- Aerospace or flight hardware design experience preferred.
- Automotive harness design experience considered for candidates with strong Siemens NX routing experience.
- Experience with product lifecycle management systems preferred but not required.
Employment Type: Contract in Long Beach, California; primarily onsite with potential flexibility for one remote day per week.
