Job Role: Hardware Support Technician
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite)

Job Summary
The Hardware Support Technician . L2 is responsible for building, imaging, configuring, and preparing Mac and Windows devices for end users. The role also supports hardware and accessories inventory management, laptop deployment and recovery, and basic hardware asset management activities.
 
Key Responsibilities
PC and Mac Build & Imaging
  • Build, image, configure, and provision Windows PCs and Apple Mac devices.
  • Install required operating systems, applications, drivers, security tools, and updates.
  • Perform post-build validation to ensure devices are fully functional and deployment-ready.
  • Prepare devices for new hires, replacements, refreshes, and rehires.
  • Troubleshoot common imaging and provisioning issues and escalate complex problems when required.
  • Follow standard build procedures and quality-control checklists.
 
Hardware Support
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals.
  • Test and validate devices before deployment or return to inventory.
  • Support hardware replacement and device refresh activities.
  • Coordinate and deliver laptops and required accessories to new employees and existing users.
  • Recover laptops and accessories from employees leaving the organization and process them for return, reuse, or retirement.
 
Hardware Asset & Inventory Management
  • Manage inventory of laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, chargers, and other IT accessories.
  • Receive, tag, track, and update hardware assets in the asset management system.
  • Maintain accurate device status, location, assignment, and inventory records.
  • Support inventory counts, stock reconciliation, device returns, redeployment, and retirement activities.
  • Ensure returned equipment is properly recorded, inspected, and routed for reuse, repair, or disposal.
 
Required Skills
  • Good knowledge of Windows, macOS, PC hardware, and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with device imaging, provisioning, and software installation.
  • Hardware troubleshooting and IT asset management knowledge.
  • Ability to manage device inventory and coordinate laptop deployment and recovery activities.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
 
Experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in desktop support, hardware support, device deployment, hardware asset management, or related IT operations.
  • Relevant technical education, certifications, and hands-on experience are preferred.
