Job Overview

As a full-time Hardscape Construction Foreman at Vince's Landscaping in Martinez, CA, you'll lead field crews in completing custom residential landscape construction projects that transform outdoor spaces. This role is ideal for an experienced leader with a strong background in landscape construction, hardscape installation, and outdoor living projects who is ready to grow alongside a supportive, tight-knit team.

This is not a landscape maintenance position. We're looking for a construction-focused professional with experience building paver patios, retaining walls, drainage systems, irrigation systems, grading, excavation projects, and other high-end residential outdoor living environments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a residential landscape construction crew in performing safe, efficient, and high-quality work
• Oversee the installation of pavers, hardscapes, retaining walls, drainage systems, irrigation systems, grading, excavation work, and custom outdoor living features
• Communicate with project managers and internal team members throughout each project and provide regular job updates
• Review project plans, scopes, drawings, layouts, and elevations to ensure work is completed according to specifications
• Track labor hours, materials, and equipment usage
• Assist wherever needed to solve field challenges and support successful project completion
• Ensure projects meet company quality standards and homeowner expectations

REQUIREMENTS

Our ideal Hardscape Construction Foreman has experience with landscape construction projects involving paver installation, hardscape construction, retaining walls, drainage systems, irrigation, grading, excavation, concrete forming, outdoor lighting, and planting. Experience coordinating with project management teams and operating compact equipment such as skid steers, trenchers, loaders, and mini excavators is preferred. High-end residential landscape construction experience is also highly desired.

Knowledge of Bay Area construction suppliers, materials, and job site conditions, as well as a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, would be beneficial.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of landscape construction experience
• 2+ years of experience in a foreman, lead installer, or crew leadership position
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills
• Ability to accurately read and follow plans, measurements, layouts, elevations, and construction details
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions
