    Position: Housemanager
    Location: Quogue, NY
    Salary: $120K-$130K+

    About the Role

    A highly organized and proactive Houseman is sought to support the daily operations of a private Quogue residence. This is a dynamic, hands-on position requiring a thoughtful, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in maintaining a well-run household.

    The ideal candidate is ambitious, intuitive, and service-minded, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while anticipating the needs of the principals. This role also includes driving responsibilities and requires someone comfortable working in a structured, high-expectation environment.

    Role Overview

    This is a multi-faceted position that supports the home on a daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis. The Housemanager will play a key role in ensuring the property operates seamlessly, working closely with the Lady of the House and household staff.

    Responsibilities evolve throughout the year depending on whether the family is in residence (“in season”) or traveling (“off season”).

    Key Responsibilities

    Daily Operations

    • Communicate daily with the Lady of the House to review priorities

    • Review the household calendar and prepare for upcoming guests, events, and services

    • Ensure vehicles are ready and available based on the family’s schedule

    • Manage mail, deliveries, and household access (vendors, guests, security protocols)

    • Conduct daily property walk-throughs to monitor condition, including windows, systems, and general upkeep

    • Maintain outdoor areas as needed (pool skimming, grill cleaning, etc.)

    • Prepare and send organized End-of-Day and Beginning-of-Day reports outlining completed tasks and upcoming plans

    Property & Vendor Management

    • Oversee vendors, service providers, and maintenance appointments

    • Escort vendors on and off property while ensuring work is completed to standard

    • Monitor landscaping, gardens, and outdoor areas, communicating any needs or concerns

    • Ensure all household systems and appliances remain in proper working order

    Household Organization & Inventory

    • Maintain organization across all areas of the home, including storage spaces, kitchens, and closets

    • Perform regular inventories (including detailed tracking in Excel with photos and descriptions)

    • Monitor household supplies, food storage, and expiration dates

    Household Systems & Maintenance

    • Perform routine checks on lighting, batteries, remotes, appliances, and equipment

    • Maintain specialty items such as espresso machines, cutting boards, and refrigeration systems

    • Ensure vehicles are maintained, serviced, and properly documented (registration, insurance, etc.)

    • Monitor generator testing and other property systems

    Pet Support

    • Monitor food, medication, and general needs for the family’s dogs

    • Ensure pets are safely managed during vendor visits and household activity

    Driving & Errands

    • Drive principals as needed

    • Assist with errands, household logistics, and transportation coordination

    Seasonal Responsibilities

    In Season (Family in Residence)

    • Coordinate event preparation, guest readiness, and daily household flow

    • Plan vehicle readiness and service schedules

    • Assist with seasonal requirements

    • Ensure all services and vendors are scheduled appropriately around the family’s presence

    Off Season (Family Traveling)

    • Oversee property maintenance projects in coordination with the Family Office Manager and property management team

    • Manage deep cleaning, organization, and full property resets

    • Coordinate servicing of vehicles, equipment, and home systems

    • Maintain inventory, supplies, and readiness for the family’s return

    Pre-Arrival Preparation

    • Fully prepare the home for the family’s return, including cleaning, organizing, and setting up all living spaces

    • Stock pantry essentials and ensure all systems are operational

    • Prepare outdoor and indoor spaces for immediate use
