Haas CNC Milling Setup Specialist

If you thrive on variety instead of repetitive production runs, this position is for you. You'll take on unique parts, set up Haas CNC milling centers from the ground up, and see precision work through from print to finished component.

A day in the life

You start by reviewing drawings and engineering notes, mapping out the sequence of operations. Material is staged with an overhead crane, fixtures are aligned and secured, and cutting tools, attachments, and accessories are dialed in. You verify workholding, touch off tools, and bring the first part to life—monitoring feeds and speeds in-process and making on-the-fly edits when needed to keep everything within tolerance. Throughout the day, you select the right tools and materials for each job, adjust as requirements evolve, and collaborate with a small team while working independently.

What you'll do

• Set up, adjust, and run Haas CNC milling centers for precision machining in a job shop (not production) environment
• Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials
• Use overhead cranes to safely move and stage materials and assemblies
• Monitor feeds and speeds during machining; edit as necessary to maintain quality
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to define methods and sequences
• Determine dimensions and tolerances; verify conformance
• Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each assignment

What makes you a great fit

• 5–10 years of hands-on CNC machining experience
• Deep understanding of Haas CNC milling setup and operation (prior Haas experience strongly preferred)
• Proven ability to read and interpret prints and plan operations
• Self-starter who collaborates well and performs with minimal supervision

Compensation

$28–$35 per hour, based on experience.
