This newly renovated center houses all early childhood programming including GSRP, Junior Kindergarten and general and special education (ECSE 0-3-year old) preschool programs. The OPSD is committed to a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement through aligned and meaningful professional development, a partnership with Oakland ISD services, data teams to drive instructional decisions and best practices and a relentless focus on the whole child. OPSD is looking for GSRP teachers who are intrinsically motivated; who have a deep desire to grow professionally; who believe children deserve to learn in an environment with the highest level of cultural competence; who are committed to providing children with boundless opportunities; and who understand that initiative, rigor and grit are essential to be a great GSRP teacher leader in the 21st Century. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Education/Certification

    • A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood- General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement, or
    • A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education Preferred Experience
    • Teaching experience at the preschool or elementary grade level
    • Demonstrated ability to provide instructional l eadership for all learners in multiple developmental stages
    • Experience with a diverse student and parent population
    • Strong organizational skills, flexibility and the ability to prioritize the completion of work in a timely manner
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

    • Create an inviting and nurturing classroom that meets the needs of all learners academically, developmentally, culturally, socially and emotionally
    • Collaborate, create and implement developmentally appropriate lessons that are engaging, meaningful and aligned with the curriculum as outlined by GSRP
    • Implement Individual Education Plan's (IEP), 504's, English Language Learner lessons and general education plans with the highest level of integrity and fidelity
    • Use daily COR anecdotal notes and PQA data to measure and support student growth and develop ment throughout the school year
    • Maintain up
    • to-date assessments of development for immediate student feedback and to inform instructional strategies to meet the needs of each student
    • Establish clear expectations, routines, ownership and engaging lesson plans and activities to provide a safe environment for optimal academic, developmental, social and emotional growth
    • Build and maintain positive partnerships with parent/guardians to maximize student support and development
    • Participate in professional development opportunities that are aligned with the district and school's mission, vision and goals and GSRP compliance
    • Be an active member of the school community through, Professional Learning Communities, various building and district committee work, the School Improvement Team and other leadership opportunities as presented
    • Engage with student and family activities outside of the school day that supports the programming and traditions of the building and district
    • Any other duties assigned by the Principal or designee ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    • Support the building and district by providing an educational program that meets the educational needs of each student in the area of responsibility
    • Support instruction which is consistent with District and school expectations and which meets the educational needs of all students assigned to the teacher
    • Communicate with colleagues and school community members in a manner which is consistent with district and school expectations
    • Assist in planning, documenting and managing materials and resources that is consistent with district and school expectations
    • Provide student supervision, which ensures safety (both physically and emotionally)
    • Assist with time management, equipment and materials efficiently
