POSITION: GSRP Non-Certified Paraprofessional

LOCATION: P-CCS Preschool

HOURS: 16 hours per week

Monday-Thursday

9:00am 1:00pm

JOB SUMMARY: Assist with providing high quality preschool education to students

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience working in an early childhood setting preferred
  • Ability to work in cooperative and collegial manner with GSRP Lead Teacher and Supervisor
  • Demonstrated ability to work with parents and children
  • Ability to maintain good rapport with staff/students
  • Knowledge of the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Prekindergarten
  • Yearly CPR/AED and first aid certification required
  • Negative TB test required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Regular and reliable attendance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete professional development required by State Licensing
  • Support Lead Teacher with tasks throughout the school day
  • Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and emergency situations (i.e. tornado drills, fire drills, etc.)
  • Engage in activities with children at their physical level
  • Help create an overall supportive, nurturing, and strength-based atmosphere
  • Assist with arrival and dismissal of children
  • Assist with and participate in family style meal service and clean up after food is served
  • Assist with the preparation and cleanup of room
  • Bending, lifting and overhead work may be required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
