Are you an experienced sales professional with a passion for hospitality, relationship-building, and creating memorable experiences? We're seeking a Full-Time Year-Round Group Sales Manager to join our team at the Bar Harbor Inn & Spa, located on the stunning coast of Bar Harbor, Maine.
In this role, you'll lead the hotel's group sales efforts, developing new business and building lasting relationships with clients while helping drive revenue through leisure, business, group, and wedding opportunities. You'll work closely with our General Manager, Catering & Sales Coordinator, and other departments to ensure each group experience is thoughtfully planned and successfully executed.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the hotel's group sales efforts and develop strategies to increase group, leisure, business, and wedding revenue
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
Work closely with the General Manager and leadership team to develop and implement annual sales strategies and goals
Sell and promote the Bar Harbor Inn & Spa to prospective clients through calls, emails, networking, property tours, client meetings, and other sales activities
Negotiate rates, contracts, room blocks, and other agreements while maximizing hotel revenue
Prepare and maintain accurate sales reports, contracts, proposals, and other group documentation
Attend group and wedding trade shows, networking events, and other industry functions as needed
Work closely with the Catering Sales Manager, front desk, reservations, food and beverage, and other departments to ensure successful group experiences
Participate in client meetings and assist with resolving guest or client concerns
Assist Catering & Sales Coordinator with events as needed
Monitor sales activity, projected business, and actual revenue, and communicate opportunities and challenges to management
Occasionally travel for sales meetings, trade shows, networking events, and client visits
Qualifications & Skills:
Prior hospitality experience required
Experience in sales, marketing, group sales, or a related field preferred
At least 3 years of leadership experience preferred
Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong computer and administrative skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently while also being a strong team player
Professional and confident when communicating with clients, guests, vendors, and team members
Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to travel occasionally for industry events and sales opportunities
