H/L is looking for a Group Media Director who will work in a collaborative environment developing omni-channel media plans for clients as well as new business prospects. In addition to having demonstrated experience in linear and digital channels, strong analytical skills are required, as are insightful media rationales and cutting-edge media solutions. The Group Media Director will work with Media, Account Service, Insights/Research, Creative, Digital, and other departments to serve our clients. This position reports to the VP/Media Director. This is a hybridRESPONSIBILITIESLead the strategic and innovative thinking with the media planning team and clientsEnsure media plans are strategic, innovative, and solidSupervise the execution of media plans, including preparation of media budgets, schedules of insertions, contracts, and supporting materialsPrepare and present media plans, as needed, including objectives, strategy, rationale, and measurement frameworksConsult with clients and internal teams on analytics, audience targeting, media mix modeling, segmentation, and frequent reportingCollaborate with and lead media team members, as well as cross-agency departmentsExpert understanding of clients' business and marketing goalsCommunicate daily with several clients across multiple lines of businessEvaluate, update, and ensure best practices are surpassedEstablish the systems and procedures needed for the team to produce timely, accurate, and innovative workLead by monitoring and managing workflow, identifying and addressing issues, and setting prioritiesLearn to, or utilize Asana for project managementLead client meetings and new business pitchesProvide thought leadership on media industry updates both internally and to clientsPositively represent the agency at industry events and conferences, and share out relevant information/knowledge/insights/updates with the agency in a timely mannerSeek out and participate in new business and awards opportunitiesTrain and supervise planners in all media—streaming video and audio, social, programmatic, TV, Radio, outdoor, etc.Stimulate the team's productivity and growth by assigning work that aligns with each member's skills and strengths motivates their interests, and challenges their mindsWork with channel leads from Paid Social, Paid Search, and ProgrammaticUnderstand the concept and application of leveraging a technology stackEnsure projects are produced completely, correctly, and efficientlyPrepare and execute all special assignments requested by managementAbout you:You have a bachelor's degree (required)You have a required minimum of over ten years of related experience in media planning and buyingYou have work experience in all media typesYou have solid writing and presentation skillsYou have working knowledge of standard media resources and toolsYou have an entrepreneurial spiritYou are highly attentive to detail and organizationYou are able to work well under pressure and with strict deadlines in a fast-paced environmentYou have proven problem-solving skills and impeccable multitasking abilitiesYou are able to collaborate and build strong relationships with staff, clients, and vendorsYou have sound mathematical and analytical abilitiesYou lead with respect, motivation, and empathyFor SF Bay Area/CA-based: H/L offers a projected compensation range for a position as an estimate of what the company believes is a reasonable pay scale. The salary range for this position is expected to be between $110,000 and $140,000 per year. The actual offer to a successful candidate will depend on various factors, including the job's scope and responsibilities, the candidate's qualifications, budget availability, internal pay equity, geographic location, and external market pay rates for similar positions.
