Production Supervisor / Manufacturing Group Leader – Automotive
Location: Rochester, NY | Fully Onsite
Pay: $40–$45 per hour

We’re seeking hands-on manufacturing leaders to oversee daily production in a high-volume automotive facility. You’ll supervise approximately 10–30 hourly employees, help launch production operations, and drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivity.

What You’ll Do
- Lead daily production activities, assign work, and adjust staffing to meet production goals.
- Coach, train, and develop hourly employees while reinforcing accountability and teamwork.
- Maintain safe work practices, quality standards, and standardized work procedures.
- Partner with maintenance and engineering to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize downtime.
- Support production launches, pilot activities, and manufacturing ramp-up.
- Track production performance and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce recurring issues.
- Apply lean manufacturing and Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) principles.
- Build productive relationships with employees, management, and union representatives.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience as a production supervisor, manufacturing supervisor, group leader, or similar manufacturing leader.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise hourly employees and manage daily plant operations.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing safety, quality, standardized work, and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to coordinate staffing, equipment, and materials in a fast-paced production environment.
- Flexibility to work any assigned shift, weekends, and overtime.
Preferred Experience
- High-volume automotive manufacturing or assembly.
- Union environments and collective bargaining agreements.
- Production launches or manufacturing ramp-up.
- GMS, lean manufacturing, Andon systems, layered process audits, or Business Plan Deployment (BPD).
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical, manufacturing, or related field.
Schedule & Work Expectations
- Monday–Friday with flexibility to work any assigned shift.
- Saturday and Sunday work is currently expected during launch activities.
- Approximately 10 hours of overtime per week, with additional coverage as needed.
- Expect approximately 30 minutes of coverage before and after the assigned shift.
- This position is fully onsite in Rochester, NY.
